Orkut Laugh Virus!!!

"Orkut IS BANNED, orkut is banned you fool The administrators didnt write this program guess who did?? r r MUHAHAHA!!"
This is a new virus which is spreading at alarming rate.It affected one of my friend's PC so I tried to figure out what it does.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to the processes tab


Look for svchost.exe under the image name. There will be 5 or more than 5 svchost processes here.Look for the one which has your username in it.


Press DEL to kill these files.Press Yes in the warning that comes after this.


Repeat for more svchost.exe files with your username and repeat. Do not kill svchost.exe with system, local service or network service!


Now open My Computer


In the address bar, type C:\heap41a and press enter. It is a hidden folder so will not be visible.


Delete all the files.


Now go to Start --> Run--> type Regedit


Go to the menu Edit --> Find


Type "heap41a" here and press enter. You will get something like this "[winlogon] C:\heap41a\svchost.exe C:\heap(some number)\std.txt"


Select that and Press DEL. Click Yes on the warning that comes after this.


Now close the registry editor.


Be sure to delete the autorun.inf file and any folder whose name ends with .exe in the pen drive and never doubleclick open a pendrive.
This Virus is known as w32.USBWorm . Avast is able to detect and remove it. I hope the other antivirus software will also be able to remove it soon.I dont think any antivirus is able to remove this virus.I checked Norton and Kaspersky.Both failed.I hope that the companies react and get a solution very soon to this problem as Orkut has large number of users.

FM alarm clock

Sony Ericsson has launched a new mobile phone which has radio alarm clock i.e. Now you dont have to wake up by that irritating Alarm sound but by your favourite radio station.I wonder what next.
